ASUC student legal clinic

Every year, the ASUC Student Legal Clinic completes hundreds of students’ tax filings for free. All case workers are IRS-certified preparers. In order to qualify for services, you must be a California resident and satisfy at least one of the following:

  • Low-income

  • Senior Citizen

  • Limited English-speaking

  • Have a disability

  • Foreign student/scholar

Volunteer Income tax assistance (VITA)

VITA provides tax assistance to the greater East Bay community. It consists of a 2 unit year-long DeCal divided as follows:

  • Fall: Learn how to help file taxes

  • Spring: Volunteer at community tax preparation sites
